Step 2.  Contact the squadron

Please contact us to confirm the meeting date, time and location. You can also take the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about membership eligibility.  You will connecting with our Recruiting and Retention Officer.  They will respond as quickly as possible to answer your questions.

Step 3. Visit a meeting

The best way to learn more about what you can do in CAP is to attend a meeting. You’ll have a chance to see how meetings are run and what types of activities are available. Our cadet meetings (ages 12-18, with Sr. Members present) are every Monday from 18:30 to 21:00 (6:30-9:00 p.m.), at Joint Base Bolling, off 295. Enter base through ARNOLD GATE, please have at lease two forms of ID to gain entry. Once through gate, please make your first Left at the light and process 1/4 of a mile and the building #111 is on your Right behind the base police department parking lot.

Step 4. Membership Application Process

After you’ve visited a few meetings and feel confident you want to join the Civil Air Patrol, the squadron will provide you with a membership application, fingerprint card (for adults), and inform you of the amount of annual dues. (All Senior Members are fingerprinted and undergo a background check, for the safety of our cadets.)

NOTE:  Applications without the squadron commander’s signature will not be processed. 

Step 5Mail your completed application, fingerprint card (for adult members) and a check for the annual dues: $30/yr for cadets and $60 for Senior members.  (CAP Dues by State) Make the check out to: “Civil Air Patrol – Natl. HQ” and mail to:

** Please note that Senior Member Applications along with fingerprint cards can be picked up at the squadron. Also note that the Unit commander or personnel can assist with fingerprinting onsite; free of charge if joining.**
